Title: Hiper Alert: TS7700 Slow Performance due to High %CPU usage for Java process
Description:
When an invalid URL is specified to connect to the Management Interface (GUI), web threads get hung out. After about 8 such invalid URLs, the web code becomes unresponsive and the TS7700 performance drops significantly. VEHSTATS will indicate high CPU usage.
Affected TS7700 Code Levels:
8.21.0.63-8.21.0.119
Available Solutions:
Avoid specifying invalid URLs. Note that “http://virtual_IP/console” is considered invalid…it needs to be “http://virtual_IP/Console” (note the upper case ‘C’). If this condition is encountered, resulting in high CPU usage, a call should be placed to have an SSR dispatched to restart the web server and allow normal processing to resume. This restart is performed concurrent with system operations, but will require all Management Interface users to log back in.
