Do Enterprise Storage Arrays have a Future?

Good read here by John Webster (thank you)

I’m reading some handwriting on the wall. It says that revenue growth for the storage array platforms commonly used in enterprise data centers will be hard to come by in 2014. I say this knowing full well that more data is being produced by more people using more data generating things than ever before. Big box arrays should therefore be thriving.

    When the writer states this:

    “Add to that the news that IBM IBM +1.02% recently sold a significant portion of its storage product portfolio to Lenovo and one has to start thinking that the really big data growth is landing on some other types of storage.”

    He immediately starts losing credibility. IBM recently sold the X-series platform. Storage remains untouched… John needs to do a little more research!
